Why is everyone afraid of black men? In her new documentary Afraid of Dark, filmmaker Mya B. attempts to answer this question.
After party for “Afraid of Dark”. Thanks to my PNC for throwing this for me. It was the furthest thing from my mind to do an after party. Claudine and DJ Jahmedicine pulled it together for me. #grateful. We had fun.
My first Brooklyn screening of “Afraid of Dark” was a success. More than 300 people came out to support this film. I barely had a seat. So humbled and honored. My brother flew in also which made it more of a dope experience for me.
Marc Cary blessed us with his fingers on the piano and we had an amazing panel discussion.
Thank you Reel Sisters for showcasing my work at your Summer Screening Series.
